Director: Lorne Blyth
Flavours is a specialist tour operator founded by Lorne Blyth in 1998. Her vision was to run cookery holidays in unspoiled Italian regions, working with local cooks and staying in exclusive, private villas. Commenting on the success of the business Lorne says, ”Our growth has been very much led by demand, after sampling one location, guests are keen to repeat the experience, and so I have kept the same winning formula and spend time exploring new regions and locations. The key is to find great cooks who are willing to share their knowledge and experience - I am really lucky to work with some fantastic cooks in off the beaten track regions of Italy."
| Tuscany Chef: Simone
Our chef who will teach you all things Italian in Tuscany, held at the beautiful and peaceful venue, Villa Segalato, is Simone. Simone learned all his cooking skills from his grandmother and is passionate about food... both creating dishes and enjoying the result! Simone has worked with Flavours for the last three years and is a great asset to the Flavours family.
| Sicily Chef: Guiesppina
Our Sicilian cook is passionate and proud of her Sicilian culinary heritage! Like all good cooks she has been taught by her “mama”. During your week with her she will share the many delights this island has to offer: agnello con patate (roast lamb with artichokes in season), the classic Sicilian caponata, and delicious Cassata dessert. She also makes her own limoncello – perfect served ice cold straight from the freezer.
| Puglia Chef: Antonio
Our Puglia chef is Antonio. He runs his own restaurant in Santa Maria di Leuca, a town at the very end of the Salentine Peninsula where he uses the best local ingredients, including locally caught fantastic seafood. He is absolutely passionate about Italian food and delights in sharing his best recipes with guests at the cookery school. Every dish leaves his kitchen ‘con amore’, which is why he has been described as ‘Salento’s very own Nigel Slater.’
| Hostess: Livia
You will be looked after by our host Livia for our Tuscany & Puglia tours. Livia’s home town is Bologna and she sometimes is our chef for our Bologna tour dates - she's a dab hand at making Tortellini with ragu sauce. Livia is a wonderful host and will look after your every need while sharing her knowledge on the regions she looks after – nothing is too much trouble for our wonderful Livia!
