Catered Journeys for Curious Souls

The Adagio Traveler
Independent. Discerning. Inquisitive. Appreciate structure while realizing the value of spontaneity. Turned off by big tour buses. Prefer "small and charming" to "lavish and grandiose". Enjoy physical activity, but not if it means missing the flavor of your surroundings.

Sound Like You?
If so, Adagio Travel was conceived with you in mind. In Italian, adagio means "slowly, with care, gently", and this is exactly how tours are paced. Since 1999, Adagio Travel has been creating and catering journeys to less-traveled parts of Italy for small groups of like-minded travelers. In 2005, Adagio added a trip to a private manor house owned by friends in Provence, France. In 2007, Adagio Travel began journeys just over the eastern Italian border to tiny, friendly, unspoiled Slovenia.

Adagio's name says it all. Adagio's passion is to enable you to slow down in beautiful, uncommon places. To inspire you to see the forest and the trees. To encourage wandering. To take care of your details. To have you return home refreshed, understanding the world in a different way. Adagio Travel has picked destinations off the beaten path, because they merit this approach. So do you.

Adagio Travel was conceived for independent travelers who are curious about the corners of Italy, France and Slovenia that are rarely if ever reached by big tour buses. Groups are small, usually eight to ten people, and give you a unique opportunity to meet like-minded persons. Custom-designed tours are a specialty of Adagio. All journeys emphasize the food and wine of the regions visited because... well, because Adagio believes you haven't really lived these countries until you have supped and sipped with the natives. So... slow down, and savor the flavors, scents and sites that are found only in the places Adagio Travel takes you.

Mosey Adagio's Way...
What sets Adagio's small group trips apart? Clients say it's the feeling of being an honored guest, rather than a tourist. Adagio's founder studied in France and Italy, has worked in tourism for over 20 years and lived in Italy from 1997 to 2002. She puts together tours in the places she knows best and that recall her fondest memories. They reflect her view that your travel experience should stay with you much longer than the few days you are away from home.
